Sara Palmer, MA, LCSW: I completed my undergraduate degree in Sociology, with a minor in Psychology at State University of New York at Purchase in 2002. I received my Master’s degree in Social Work at the State University of New York at Albany in 2006. I have worked in community mental health since 2006, beginning in a rural county clinic focused on treating individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse related disorders. My positions held range from direct care practice to regional manager and supervising other therapists. My true passion is working with individuals to help guide them to make positive changes within themselves. I specialize in working with adults, trauma, phase of life changes, and veterans. I utilize a variety of treatment modalities: mindfulness based practices, SFBT, CBT and DBT. I believe in the value of incorporating a person’s support system, areas of interests, culture and spiritual beliefs to help them achieve their goals.
